Installation takes approximately 1 hour and involves wiring 31 connections from the D2Ckey chip to the DVD controller chip. Most of the connections are directly to the tiny IC legs.
D2Ckey installation takes approximately 1 hour, so can be done while you wait, or dropped off and picked up later.
Definately not to be tried if you are not an experienced electronic engineer!

This chip is more reliable than the new chips in development such as Argon or D2CPro. We are fitting the Wiikey2 chips in D2D, D2E and D2F versions of the chip. But my my D2Ckey is still the best chip for the D2C version. Difficult to fit so not one for those not skilled in electronics.
Below is a picture taken through a microscope of some of the fine D2Ckey wiring.
The wire is 0.125mm in diameter.
